Hey there, time traveller!

Winnipeg Blue Bombers fans won’t have to wait long to get a look at their new-look football team.
The CFL released its 2016 schedule Thursday and the Bombers will open their season at home against the Montreal Alouettes on Friday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Coming off a 5-13 campaign, the Bombers have been busy in free agency, adding running backs Andrew Harris and Pascal Lochard, receivers Weston Dressler and Ryan Smith, defensive tackles Keith Shologan and Euclid Cummings, offensive lineman Jeff Keeping and kicker Justin Medlock and after two pre-season games — with the Alouettes here June 8 and the Bombers then in Ottawa June 13 — that whole crew should be in action for the home opener.

After that lid lifter, the Bombers didn’t exactly get a break from the schedule maker as they then face a six-game stretch in which they play the Grey Cup champion Edmonton Eskimos twice as well as two dates each with the Calgary Stampeders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats — a pair of clubs expected to challenge for the Grey Cup this season.
The schedule features the annual Labour Day Classic/Banjo Bowl doubleheader with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Sept. 4 in Regina and then Sept. 10 in Winnipeg and also has a window for the soon-to-be-announced outdoor NHL game that will be played at Investors Group Field in October.
The Bombers are home to the B.C. Lions Oct. 8 and don’t play again in Winnipeg until Oct. 29 against Ottawa. That means the Heritage Classic, featuring the Jets and likely the Edmonton Oilers, will be held on the weekend of Oct. 21-22.
The Bombers will play one Wednesday night home Game in the summer — with Hamilton here Aug. 3 — to make way for the 2016 Summer Olympics to be broadcast on TSN. All told, the Bombers will play two home games on Thursday, three games on Friday, and four Saturday home games in the fall.
Winnipeg will make one appearance at the CFL’s newest venue, with the Bombers meeting the Argonauts at BMO Field Aug. 12.
The CFL playoffs begin Nov. 12 with the divisional semifinals and wrap up with the 104th Grey Cup — at BMO Field — Nov. 27.
