The Winnipeg Jets have recalled defenceman Brian Strait from the Manitoba Moose.
Strait, 29, acquired last July by Winnipeg as an unrestricted free agent, has five assists in 27 games with the Moose this season. Prior to joining the Jets, Strait played six seasons in the NHL between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Islanders, where he collected 27 points (6A, 21A) in 182 games.
Strait earns a spot on the Jets roster after the team placed forward Mathieu Perreault on the injured reserved list Wednesday after Perreault suffered an upper-body injury in a loss to the Anaheim Ducks Monday night.

Perreault is the most recent addition to the IR, joining forwards Marko Dano (lower-body) and Drew Stafford (lower-body), and defenceman Ben Chiarot (upper-body) and Tyler Myers (lower-body).
Meanwhile, defenceman Toby Enstrom remains questionable for Thursday’s game in Chicago after he was forced to leave in the second period of Tuesday’s loss to the San Jose Sharks. Enstrom suffered an injury as the result of falling awkwardly into the boards. He would return to the game but eventually leave shortly after.
