Accused in child porn caseback in jail after video surfaces

A Winnipeg man facing charges of possessing and making child pornography had his bail revoked after a video involving sexual acts on a six-year-old child was livestreamed on the Internet.

The video shows an unidentified American suspect assaulting the child, who was in his care. The suspect was being directed to commit various sex acts on the child by the Winnipeg man, police said Thursday.

Greg Alan Jamieson, 45, was first identified in mid-2016 by the National Centre for Missing Exploited Children in Virginia about child-porn images linked to a Winnipeg IP address.

Police searched a house in St. James last November and found images of abuse involving victims as young as eight months old.

Jamieson was charged and released on bail.

The Winnipeg Police Service Internet child-exploitation unit continued the investigation and turned up a communication with the American suspect via an instant-messaging and livestreaming app.

Jamieson faces numerous additional charges of possessing and making child pornography, sexual interference and child exploitation.

Winnipeg police are working with American authorities, including the United States Department of Homeland Security, to identify and track down the American suspect and victim involved in the video.
