Winnipeg police have made an arrest in connection with three sexual assaults in St. Vital.
Police said on Friday investigators had charged a man with three counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference on Thursday. He was released from custody.
Police issued a public advisory on Dec. 20, 2022, following the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in the Worthington neighbourhood one day earlier. Police said the girl had been walking her dog and was returning to her apartment building when a man covered her mouth. When she tried to scream, he touched her in an unwanted sexual manner before fleeing.
Police said on March 14, a teenage girl was followed into her apartment in the Beliveau neighbourhood by a man who grabbed her and kissed her. She screamed and he fled.
One day later, police said a woman in her 20s reported an unknown man had followed her into a Beliveau neighbourhood apartment. Later, when she was leaving, he covered her mouth, pulled her to the ground and touched her in a sexual manner. He fled when she screamed.
Police didn’t release the age or name of the accused.
