Both the Assiniboine Park Zoo and biomes at The Leaf will be closed for a few days this month.
The Assiniboine Park Conservancy says the zoo will be closed from Jan. 8 to 19 for its annual deep cleaning and maintenance. The work will include minor repairs and painting, along with the removal of the annual Zoo Lights display that ends Sunday.
The zoo’s gift shop and food and beverage operations will also be closed.
The zoo will reopen Jan. 20 with regular hours of operation (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
The Leaf’s biomes will be closed from Monday to Wednesday next week for garden maintenance and a display change.
During the closure, the Babs Asper Display House will see 15 fresh floral mannequins installed as part of the Fleurs de Villes VOYAGE display, which runs Jan. 11-21.

The area will be closed again during the day on Jan. 22, for installation of a Flora of the Philippines display. It will reopen from 5-9 p.m., continuing with its regular daily hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
During the closure of the facility’s biomes, the Gather Kitchen and Bar will continue to be open from 11 a.m to 11 p.m.
