Two men have been arrested after a victim was shot in an Opaskwayak Cree Nation home.
The Moose Lake residents, ages 32 and 30, have both been charged with weapons and other offences in connection with the Monday incident.
The victim, previously identified by RCMP as a 35-year-old Flin Flon man, was “severely bleeding” when Manitoba First Nations Police Service officers arrived at the home on Bracken Dam Road shortly before 4:30 p.m. He remained in hospital in stable condition Wednesday afternoon.

Items seized from the home on Whitebridge Road in Opaskwayak Cree Nation.
The MFNPS said three suspects arrived at the home in a black Dodge Ram pickup truck, forced their way inside and demanded property from the victim. The suspects fired multiple shots inside the home. Other people were inside when the suspects barged in, but the victim was the only one injured, the MFNPS said in a news release Wednesday.
MFNPS officers found the truck at a home on Whitebridge Road shortly after noon Tuesday. The five people inside refused to come out for hours, police said. Five people were taken into custody at about 5:30 p.m., after a search warrant for the home was obtained.
Two of the five people are charged in connection with the shooting. The three others — a 31-year-old man from The Pas, a 35-year-old OCN woman and an 18-year-old Moose Lake woman — face weapons offences and other charges. The man was wanted on an arrest warrant.
“It is believed the shooting was targeted and the suspects and victim are known to each other. The investigation is ongoing, and police expect additional charges,” the MFNPS said.
RCMP said Tuesday that the OCN shooting might be connected with a shooting on Hone Street in The Pas at 5:50 a.m. Monday. Multiple shots were fired at the home, and two males were seen leaving in a similar truck.
Police asked anyone with information about the shootings to call the MFNPS’s OCN detachment at 204-623-8201, The Pas RCMP at 204-627-6204. Callers can also give tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or the MFNPS at 1-833-978-0048.
