Here’s a roundup of hours of business for services and things to do on Christmas and Boxing Day.
GOVERNMENT SERVICES
Civic, provincial and federal offices are closed.
There is no mail delivery on Dec. 25 or 26. Canada Post offices are closed, but post offices operated by the private sector will be open according to the hours of service of the host business.
City cemetery grounds are open 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 25. The administration office at Brookside cemetery will be closed Dec. 25 and Dec. 26.
Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule on Dec. 25 and 26. Plan your specific route and see service alerts on the Winnipeg Transit site.
RECYCLING AND TRASH
Recycling and garbage will not be collected on Dec. 25.
The Brady Road landfill is closed Dec. 25. Open Dec. 26 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The 4R Winnipeg depot at the Brady landfill will be closed Dec. 25. Open Dec. 26 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific and Panet 4R depots are closed both days.
RECREATION AND LEISURE
All Winnipeg Public Library branches will be closed Dec. 25 and Dec. 26. (Find your great next read in our Books section.)
Most city arenas will be closed Dec. 25 to Jan. 2, except Ab McDonald Arena (2055 Ness Ave.) which will be open after Christmas during the winter break.
All fitness and leisure centres will be closed. They close at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 24 and reopen Dec. 27.
All City of Winnipeg swimming pools will be closed Dec. 25 and 26.

The Assiniboine Park Zoo and The Leaf will be closed Dec. 25 and open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 26. See what’s on.
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights will be closed Dec. 25 and 26. See current exhibits and events.
The Manitoba Children’s Museum will be closed Dec. 25 and open Dec. 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Check out their featured events.

Grocery stores are closed Dec. 25, and while some are open Dec. 26, you might want to call ahead to check the hours at your preferred shop.
CF Polo Park will be closed Dec. 25, open Dec. 26 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Garden City Shopping Centre will be closed Dec. 25, open Dec. 26 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Grant Park Shopping Centre will be closed Dec. 25, open Dec. 26 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Kildonan Place will be closed Dec. 25, open Dec. 26 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Outlet Collection Winnipeg will be closed Dec. 25, open Dec. 26 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Portage Place will be closed Dec. 25, open Dec. 26 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
St. Vital Centre will be closed Dec. 25, open Dec. 26 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Forks Market building is open all holidays, regular hours. Tenants are closed only on Dec. 25.
All Liquor Mart stores in Winnipeg will be closed Dec. 25, and open Dec. 26 11 a.m. to 6 p.m, except the True North Square Liquor Mart, which is closed Dec. 26. Check hours at your preferred store.
Beer vendors and private wine stores set their own hours for holidays, so call ahead.
