A minister with the United Church and community volunteer will carry the NDP standard in the Brandon-Souris riding.
Quentin Robinson, who has lived in the central and Westman regions for three decades and in Brandon for nine years, has been nominated in the western Manitoba riding that has predominantly voted for Conservative federal representatives for more than a half-century. It was represented by Tory MP Larry Maguire, until he suddenly stepped down last Sunday due to health concerns and was quickly replaced by Spruce Woods MLA Grant Jackson.
He ran in the 2023 provincial election under the NDP banner in Brandon West, finishing second to Tory Wayne Balcaen by a razor-thin margin of 89 votes.

Robinson spent a decade on a farm as a custom grain harvester and livestock producer before becoming a United Church minister for 25 years and a marriage and family therapist for 17 years.
In the community, Robinson was co-chair of the Knox Green Team, served on the board of the Manitoba Electric Vehicle Association and was active with the Brandon Climate Action Plan and Sustainable Manitoba.
Robinson is married with three children and two grandchildren.
