Manitoba Health has identified more measles cases and exposure sites in the Southern Health Region.
The sites include a grocery store, a medical centre and a school.
The province said five sites in Winkler and Gretna have been confirmed as exposure sites for the highly contagious virus. The Winkler sites are:
- C. W. Wiebe Medical Centre, from 8:47 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on April 24, 8:45 a.m. to 6:59 p.m. on April 25 and 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on April 29
- Dynacare, on the same dates and times as the medical centre exposure
- Winners, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. on April 27
- Real Canadian Superstore, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on April 28
The other site is Gretna School, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on April 22, 23 and 24.
The latest cases and exposures bring the province’s total number of confirmed and probable measles cases to 14, primarily within the Southern Health Region.
People who might have been exposed at the locations are asked to self-monitor for symptoms for three weeks past the day of potential exposure. The province said those who think they might have been exposed but have not been directly notified should call Health Links at 204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257.
