Brady Oliveira is staying home.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced Monday afternoon the star running back has agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2028 season.
The 28-year-old was scheduled to become a free agent in February.

“I know what I can bring and I know I’m a calibre of player that can help a team win a championship, so I want to put myself in the best situation to win a championship,” said Oliveira in his end of season press conference in November.
“This is why I play this game. I don’t play it for none of the awards or any of that stuff, I play it to win a Grey Cup. So I’m going to put myself in the best situation.”
Oliveira was the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player in 2024 and is a two-time recipient of the CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian award (2023 and 2024).
Last season, the Winnipegger rushed for 1,163 yards and three touchdowns while setting career highs in receiving with 61 catches for 546 yards. Oliveira ranks sixth all-time in franchise history with 5,480 career rushing yards.
Oliveira initially joined the Bombers after he was selected in the second round, 14th overall, in the 2019 CFL draft out of the University of North Dakota.
He will speak to reporters about his new deal Tuesday afternoon.
Oliveira joins receiver Ontaria Wilson and defensive tackle Cameron Lawson as players the Bombers have extended so far this off-season.
