CALGARY — Two Greenpeace protesters who rappelled from the top of the Calgary Tower to hang a banner slamming the oil industry have been taken into custody.

Spokeswoman Jessica Wilson says the two climbed back over the edge of the tower about 11:30 a.m. They had climbed it about two hours earlier and draped a banner that said “Separate Oil and State” on the side of tourist site.Wilson says the two will likely be charged with mischief, adding two others were also in custody.

Police blocked off several blocks around the Calgary tower site while the protesters were hanging from the top.
