Hey there, time traveller!

AFTER months of off-again, on-again plans, complicated by a brief stint behind bars, Steven Fonyo and Lisa Greenwood tied the knot on the beach that bears his name in Victoria Saturday afternoon.
"It will work out. I kept hearing that from Steve," Greenwood said afterwards. "And the day did work out."
Fonyo, 45, in a three-piece black tux and Greenwood in a strapless white dress said their "I do’s" before a dozen close family and friends and upwards of 160 other well-wishers at Fonyo Beach under blue skies.
With the kiss that sealed the deal, the crowd broke into cheers and applause.
Fonyo turned to them and waved.
Planning came down to the wire, with the officiant brought on board and programs printed the day before the nuptials.
At the same time, lawn chairs were culled from the backyards of the small and dedicated cadre of local organizers who stuck it out with the couple even after an earlier organizer pulled out over Greenwood’s arrest for assault and theft under $5,000. In early August, Fonyo, too, was charged with credit card fraud and jailed. He was released on bail Aug. 16.
Fonyo Beach is where he finished his run across Canada that raised $13 million for cancer research. The feat won him the Order of Canada in 1987, but after years of drug and legal problems, he was stripped of the honour this year.
