WEYBURN – Part of a Saskatchewan highway is being closed Wednesday night as RCMP continue to investigate the shooting death of a woman riding in an SUV.
Tanya Myers, 44, was killed Sept. 12 while a passenger in the vehicle on Highway 39 near Weyburn, southeast of Regina.
Police have said the driver of a second vehicle travelling on the same road at the same time heard two pops and later reported having a flat tire.

RCMP have said they’re not sure if the fatal shooting was accidental or intended and officers have been canvassing landowners in the area.
The family has also pleaded for the killer to come forward.
The highway was to be closed and traffic rerouted for about four hours.
RCMP say there have not been any other reported events connected to the shooting.
They say there was a report of a gunshot in the area Sunday, but officers found no evidence of a shooting.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published Sept. 24, 2025.
