High Prairie RCMP are calling for residents of a northern Alberta community to shelter in place as they investigate reports of men with guns.
The alert issued late Tuesday night is in effect for Atikameg First Nations and surrounding areas.
A statement from police says they are looking for four men, armed with firearms, who were last seen on Highway 750 near Nahachick Road.
They are also asking drivers to avoid the area and not to pick up any hitchhikers.
Currently, there is no description of the men, but police say they are considered dangerous.
Investigators say they will provide an update when it is appropriate.
