Manitobans will get a chance to give thanks and enjoy the change in seasons Thanksgiving Monday.

It’s a statutory holiday, meaning civic, provincial and federal offices are closed.

Many businesses and government services change their hours in recognition of the holiday.

SHOPPING

Most malls, including Polo Park, Kildonan Place, St. Vital, Garden City and Outlet Collection Winnipeg are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Grant Park mall is open from 12-5 p.m.

Portage Place and Cityplace are both closed.

The Forks Market is open for regular hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Most grocery stores, including Safeway, Sobeys, Superstore and Walmart, are open regular hours.

Manitoba Liquor Mart stores in Winnipeg and Brandon will be open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, except for True North Square location, which will be closed. For details on exceptions and rural Liquor Mart hours, visit http://wfp.to/6Tb.

Beer vendors and private wine stores set their own hours for the holiday, so Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Corp. suggests the best way to find out if the one near you will be open is to call.

ENTERTAINMENT

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is open Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Leaf biodome is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is closed.

The Children’s Museum is open 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The Manitoba Museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada is open regular hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is closed.

Movie theatres are open for regular hours.

RECYCLING AND TRASH

Recycling, garbage, and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled for those with Monday as their collection day.

The Brady Road Resource Management Facility is open to commercial customers from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The Brady 4R Winnipeg Depot is open to residential customers from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The Pacific and Panet 4R depots are closed.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES

Select facilities will have reduced public hours Monday, while all other indoor recreation facilities will be closed.

The Pan Am Pool is open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex is open from 2-6 p.m.

Margaret Grant Pool is open from 1-5 p.m.

Crescent Drive, Kildonan Park, and Windsor Park golf courses will remain open throughout the long weekend, weather permitting.

WINNIPEG TRANSIT

On Monday, buses will operate on a Sunday schedule.

LIBRARIES

All Winnipeg Public Library branches are closed Monday.

CEMETERIES

Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona cemetery grounds are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., but cemetery offices will be closed on the holiday.

GOVERNMENT SERVICES

Civic, provincial and federal offices are closed Monday.

The Winnipeg Animal Services Agency is closed.

There is no mail delivery on Monday, as Canada Post offices are closed. Post offices operated by the private sector will be open according to the hours of service of the host business.
