Fashion meets function in one of Randall Homes’ most popular house models.

The two-storey home called The Dexter 1909 spans 1,909 square feet with three bedrooms and three bathrooms — yet it actually feels even bigger thanks to its functional design that makes the most of every inch.

“To be honest, it’s one of the most popular houses that we sell. The design accommodates additional living space on the main floor. Upstairs, it has three good-sized bedrooms and a loft area for additional space, plus a gorgeous ensuite off the owners’ suite with a huge vanity. It even has a beautiful second floor laundry room with a gorgeous window overlooking the front,” says Jason Jaquet, vice-president of Randall Homes.

“The functionality of the house is great. For the square footage and the price point that we’re able to offer for this home, you’re getting a lot — and it’s laid out so there’s no wasted space.”

For the 2026 Spring Parade of Homes, The Dexter’s sought-after design will be displayed at the show home located at 38 Clover Terrace in Meadowlands.

“The fit and finishes are what we at Randall Homes strive to excel at. We try to make everything functional but very crisp and clean looking,” Jaquet says.

“The kitchen is the heart of every home. We’ve designed it in a way so the walk-in pantry is next to the kitchen but it’s not taking away the cabinets — so you have a little bit more functionality. You also have a beautiful island with a sink overlooking the eating area in the great room, which is nice. The great room has an electric fireplace, which is popular because you can change the colours while still getting the heat source that you’re looking for.”

The main floor also features an expansive foyer, full bathroom and a lifestyle room that could be used as an in-law suite,

Throughout the home, the bathrooms feature a banjo-top vanity with a countertop that extends all the way across — along with the mirror — to make the most of the usable space. The vanities also feature ample drawer storage.

“There’s lots and lots of storage space everywhere,” Jaquet adds. “There’s an abundance of closet space throughout the home.”

Another eye-catching detail can be found in the home’s fixtures and railings.

“We use designer fixtures throughout in a very popular colour right now, which is black. Everything has got to be black for lights. It just seems to be the trend. And with our bigger windows, there’s also lots of natural light,” Jaquet says.

“It’s a very crisp, clean-looking house with new modern features that are popular on Pinterest and that people are always looking at. We even changed our wrought-iron rail spindles. Instead of going vertically, they’re horizontal in this house. It gives you a totally different look — not that the verticals aren’t still popular, but the horizontal ones are more clean-looking. It totally changes the feel and look of the house.”

In the basement — which is ready to be developed — the walls extend eight-and-a-half feet tall compared to the common eight-foot basement ceilings.

“When you go and finish your lower level, you’ll have that extra six inches. Now the plumbing and the duct work is higher up so you actually have more functionality in your basement,” Jaquet says. “The higher basement ceiling also gives us the opportunity to put bigger windows in. The windows in there are 27 inches deep, so there’s more glass and more light in the lower level.”

Adding to the appeal, the show home is nestled in the Meadowlands community in West St. Paul.

“The area has got some synergy happening now. A new school is being constructed and there’s going to be a new Costco over there as well. It’s got a lot of the amenities, but the lots are a little bit wider than in the city so you have more space between your neighbours. That gives you the opportunity to build bigger homes but also to have that larger garage — and we have an oversize garage here,” Jaquet says.

“We put everything into this house — and it shows. It’s become very popular because of what the home is offering.”
