Two provincial flood liaison offices open Tuesday morning in Winnipeg and Morris to provide information on flood-protection levels, current flood forecasts and the status of community ring dike closures. They will operate 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily until the flood risk ends.
The Morris office is at 871 Southwood Rd., at 204-746-7325.
The Winnipeg office is at 200 Saulteaux Cres., at 204-945-2354.
High water levels:
Expected to reach Emerson April 5 to 10, and Winnipeg April 12 to 17.
Full ring dike closures:
Riverside and Roseau River First Nation are expected to be cut off by the flood. Dikes will be fully closed, there will be no road access and most residents will leave.
Partial ring dike closures:
The province expects that 11 communities will partially close their ring dikes, and will have limited ways to get in and out of the community:
Aubigny: access by Provincial Road 246 to P.R. 305 to Highway 59
Brunkild: one lane closure
Dominion City: P.R. 200 to P.R. 23 to Hwy. 59, or P.R. 201 to Hwy. 59
Emerson: access to Hwy. 75
Gretna: access by Hwy. 30 to Hwy. 14
Letellier: access by Hwy. 75
Morris: access by Hwy. 23 to Hwy. 59
Rosenort: access by P.R. 205 to P.R. 330 North
St. Adolphe: access by P.R. 210 to Hwy. 75
Ste. Agathe: access by P.R. 305 to Hwy. 75
St. Jean Baptiste: access by Hwy. 75 to Hwy. 14
Caution issued, but no current impact expected:
Grand Pointe, Niverville, Rosenfeld, St.-Pierre-Jolys
Highway closures expected:
Hwy. 3: lane closure at Brunkild
Hwy. 23: closed from Morris to P.R. 422
Hwy. 75: closed from P.R. 205 to St. Jean Baptiste; local traffic from St. Jean Baptiste to Hwy. 14; local traffic from Winnipeg south city limits to P.R. 205
Hwy. 200: closed north of Emerson, closed from Courchaine Road at the Floodway to St. Adolphe
Hwy. 201: closed at Marais River bridge; closed three km west of P.R. 200 North
Hwy. 205: closed from Hwy. 75 to P.R. 200; local traffic from Hwy. 75 to P.R. 330; closed from P.R. 422 to P.R. 322 North
Hwy. 210: closed from Hwy. 59 to St. Adolphe
Hwy. 217: closed from P.R. 200 to P.R. 246
Hwy. 243: closed from Hwy. 75 to Halbstadt, 11 km west of 75; local traffic from Halbstadt to Hwy. 30
Hwy. 246: closed from Hwy. 23 to St. Jean Baptiste
Hwy. 247: closed at Hwy. 75 west for four km
Hwy. 311: closed near junction with P.R. 200
