A WINNIPEG man faces a long list of charges after allegedly breaking into Tec Voc High School on Friday night and going on a vicious rampage that included assaulting a teenage girl and a dog.
Police report a young man started his spree about 9:40 p.m. in the gymnasium, where students were playing soccer. The intruder threatened a spectator and kicked her dog before she, another adult and a group of students could flee.
The intruder was just getting started.
From the gym, he went to another part of the school where he confronted two school employees, indicated he was armed and ordered them to the floor.
His next victims were four teenage girls he found hiding in a stairwell.
They ran, but the man was able to catch one and began assaulting her. The 15-year-old victim managed to break free but he caught her again, threatened her and began beating her again.
In the meantime, one of his other victims had managed to call police.
Hearing that police were on the way, the man fled the school.
Minutes later, a suspect was arrested by uniformed officers.
Alan Michael James Wood, 18, faces a series of charges, including break and enter, assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and cruelty to animals.
