• Friday, July 3, 10:15 a.m.: First reports come in of a possible explosion on River Avenue. Winnipeg police find a bomb blast took place at the Petersen King law office at 252 River Ave. Winnipeg lawyer Maria Mitousis, 38, is sent to hospital with extensive wounds to her upper body, including her throat, hands and stomach. Winnipeg emergency crews block off the area for several hours.
• Friday, July 3, afternoon: Police evacuate workers at the Monk Goodwin law office on the eighth floor of 444 St. Mary Ave. downtown to search for explosive devices. Mitousis had worked at the firm until last fall. No devices were found.
• Saturday, July 4, around 2 p.m.: Winnipeg police are dispatched to an auto shop in the 500 block of Washington Avenue for a report of a suspicious package that was later found to contain an explosive device. The device was detonated by a police robot shortly after 10:30 p.m. No one was injured, but there was extensive damage to the business. Later, it came to light the auto shop is connected to Guido Amsel’s ex-wife.
• Saturday, July 4, evening: Amsel, 49, is taken into custody by police.
• Sunday, July 5, late afternoon: Winnipeg police execute search warrants at a home on Pandora Avenue and an unidentified business on Springfield Road, and investigate at a law office on Stradbrook Avenue.
• Sunday, July 5, around 9:40 p.m.: Winnipeg police detonate an explosive device found at the Orle Bargen Davidson law firm at 280 Stradbrook Ave.
• Sunday, July 5, night: Winnipeg police charge Amsel with two counts of attempted murder, one count of aggravated assault and a number of charges related to the possession of explosives.
• Monday, July 6, around 10 a.m.: 40 people at the Canada Post building at 400 McDermot Ave. are evacuated after workers found a suspicious package. The bomb squad arrives at 10:45 a.m. and finds it was a false alarm. The package contained a DVD.
• Monday, July 6, around 11:30 a.m.: Another false alarm. City hall is closed after two city councillors, Matt Allard (St. Boniface) and Jason Schreyer (Elmwood-East Kildonan), received suspicious packages. The evacuation was lifted 20 minutes later after the Winnipeg police bomb squad deemed the packages safe.
• Monday, July 6, around 2 p.m.: Workers at the Canada Post building at 1870 Wellington Ave. find another suspicious package. Emergency crews respond and evacuate the building. Around 3 p.m., police announce it was a false alarm.
• Monday, July 6, around 2:30 p.m.: Emergency crews arrive to investigate a report of a suspicious package at a home on the first 100 block of Bannerman Avenue near St. Cross Street that turned out to be a false alarm.
• Monday, July 6, around 3:15 p.m.: Staff at the office of MP Rod Bruinooge (Winnipeg South) report a suspicious package. Emergency crews respond to the building at 2855 Pembina Hwy.
