Kimberly Avenue closed after crash

Kimberly Avenue is closed in both directions between Golspie and Watt streets after a single-vehicle crash left a man in critical condition.

Winnipeg Police Service officers arrived on the scene at about 3:45 a.m. today. There, they found a vehicle smashed into a tree and a male suffering from severe injuries.

He was transported to hospital and remains in critical condition, the WPS said this morning.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing, the WPS said.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes to avoid the 500 block of Kimberly.

The police investigation is expected to continue for several hours, the Winnipeg Police Service tweeted at 7:44 a.m.
