On Thursday, Winnipeg joins the rest of the country, taking pause to remember the sacrifices made by Canada’s veterans, those still in the service and those lost.
While scaled-down and virtual services remain the norm this year, there are some places holding in-person gatherings in accordance with current COVID-19 public health rules, including some Royal Canadian Legion branches across Manitoba.
Many businesses and government services change their hours on Remembrance Day. Here’s a selection:
COVID-19 TEST SITES
The drive-thru sites at 1066 Nairn Ave. and 125 King Edward St., along with the walk-in site at 1 Research Rd., are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The mobile testing site at 1181 Portage Ave. and the walk-in site at the Garrick Centre are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The drive-up clinic at 2055 Notre Dame Ave. is open 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Manitoba Liquor Mart stores in Winnipeg open at 1 p.m. For details on exceptions and rural Liquor Mart hours, visit www.LiquorMarts.ca/hours.
Beer vendors and private wine stores set their own hours for Nov. 11, so Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Corp. suggests the best way to find out if the one near you will be open is to call.
