University of Winnipeg Wesmen Female: Maria Colvin (volleyball): The third-year middle blocker had 10 kills, seven blocks and two digs and was named played of the match in the volleyball portion of the 26th Annual Duckworth Challenge last Thursday at the U of M.

University of Winnipeg Wesmen

Female: Maria Colvin (volleyball): The third-year middle blocker had 10 kills, seven blocks and two digs and was named played of the match in the volleyball portion of the 26th Annual Duckworth Challenge last Thursday at the U of M.

Male: David Bommersbach (volleyball): The fourth-year outside hitter David Bommersbach totalled 18 kills, three digs, two blocks and one service ace in a home-and-home series against the Bisons last week.

University of Manitoba

Female: Kelsey Wog (swimming): The rookie competitor won silver in the 200-metre breastroke at the 13th FINA World Swimming Championships in Windsor, Ont. last week. The 18-year-old Winnipeg native narrowly missed out on a gold, as her 2:18.52 time was only .01 away from first-place finisher Molly Renshaw of Great Britain.

Male: Adam DeJonckheere (volleyball): The fourth-year left side player registered 33 kills (on a .429 hitting percentage) along with seven blocks, three digs, one assist and 28 points to help lead the No. 3-ranked Bisons (11-1) to a home-and-home sweep over cross-town rival Winnipeg Wesmen last weekend.

Manitoba Junior Hockey League

Trevar Mann (Swan Valley Stampeders): The second-year forward from Saskatoon recorded five points (one goal, four assists) in two games last week. The 19-year-old was named first star in one of the games after a three-point outing.

Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League

Aaron Brunn (Pembina Valley Hawks): In his third season with the Hawks, Brunn was outstanding in two weekend contests. On Saturday, he stopped 37 of 38 shots to lead his team to a 2-1 shootout victory over the Winnipeg Thrashers and then the following night earned a 26-shot shutout in a victory over the Eastman Selects.
