BOMBERS 25 ARGONAUTS 16
TORONTO 3-0-10-3–16
WINNIPEG 0-7-7-11–25
INSTANT REPLAY
The defence was divine, but the special teams struggled mightily again. If it wasn’t for great running by Fred Reid and Joe Smith and two TD catches by Terrence Edwards on an off-night for QB Kevin Glenn, this was an Argos’ victory.
BOMBER GAME STARS
-OFFENCE
The two running backs — Lightning and Thunder — have to share equally in this prize and it makes you wonder why they weren’t used more, because the Argos couldn’t stop them. Reid finished with 15 carries for 107 yards while Smith lugged the ball 12 times for 101 more and a TD.
-DEFENCE
The entire front four was brilliant, but DE Kai Ellis’s three sacks and forced fumble have to get the nod over DT Jerome Haywood (pass knockdown, constant pressure), DT Doug Brown (fumble recovery) and DE Gavin Walls (sack, several hurries).
-SPECIAL TEAMS
On another tough night yet again for this unit — which gave up a 59-yard punt return to Arland Bruce III that led to an Argo TD — the only positive came in the fourth quarter when Pierre-Luc Labbe recovered a Bruce fumble on a punt return.
FAN-O-METER
The boo-birds came out when Alexis Serna missed a 36-yard FG at the end of the first half and again in the fourth when head coach Doug Berry sent Serna out again rather than gamble on third and two, but Serna hit a 34-yarder to give the home side a 17-16 edge.

STRAIGHT GOODS
They sure know how to make their own lives difficult at times with an inconsistent, mistake-prone offence and special teams units that just aren’t good enough. But the Bombers have found a double-barrelled running attack and are four points clear of the Argos, well on the way to hosting a playoff game next month.
