Hey there, time traveller!

The Manitoba Moose have signed Winnipeg native and former Brandon Wheat Kings star Scott Glennie to a professional tryout contract.
Glennie, 25, who was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the first round – eighth overall – in 2009, has played just one game in the NHL, with most of his professional career coming with the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League.
In 230 games with Texas, Glennie recorded 46 goals and 72 assists for 118 points and won a Calder Cup championship with the Stars in 2014. He went unsigned after posting a career year in 2014-15, scoring 39 points (14G, 25A) in 69 games. He hasn’t played hockey in over a year after missing all of last season with a shoulder injury.
The news of Glennie signing with the Moose comes months after he sat down with the Free Press in an exclusive interview that outlined a difficult road through hockey since his draft day. At the time, Glennie didn’t know who or if a team would give him another chance. He hadn’t ruled out playing in Europe, and the prospect of signing with his hometown team didn’t look good.
That all appears to be behind him now as Glennie aims to crack a Moose roster that will be rich with young prospects. The Moose open their 2016 training camp on Monday, Oct. 3 at MTS Iceplex.
