ABOUT THE RED WINGS

— Detroit is coming off a 4-3 overtime loss in Philadelphia Wednesday. Flyers forward Jakub Voráček scored at 1:41 of extra time to hand the Wings their 12th straight loss in Philly. Detroit fell to 6-4-1 overall.

— RW Gustav Nyquist leads Detroit with nine points, including three goals, while LW Thomas Vanek, C Darren Helm and C Dylan Larkin share the club goal-scoring lead with four apiece.

— Much of the the Red Wings’ early success can be attributed to goaltending. No. 1 Petr Mrazek has a 4-3-1 record with a 3.07 goal-against average while No. 2 Jimmy Howard has a 0.86 average, a .973 save percentage and a 2-1-0 record.
