It’s been a big week for Winnipeg Goldeyes veteran Reggie Abercrombie.

The 39-year-old centre-fielder was named the American Association’s batter of the week for Aug. 5-11 after putting up a 10-for-30 performance (.333) in seven games.

Abercrombie scored 10 runs and had 6 RBIs, capping things off Saturday with two home runs in a 13-9 win against the Milwaukee Milkmen.

With 88 home runs over his six years in a Goldeyes uniform, Abercrombie has a good chance of surpassing the franchise all-time home run record this season. Former Goldeye Josh Mazzola holds the top spot, with 90.

Abercrombie has been breaking records all year. He’s the only player to play 10 seasons in the league and set the league record for games played (694) and runs scored (530).
