SOREL-TRACY, Que. — Three teams still boast undefeated records after two days of action at the M&M Meat Shops Canadian junior men’s curling championships.

Saskatchewan tops the table with a 4-0 record, while Manitoba, represented by Winnipeg’s Alex Forrest, and Ontario are close behind with 3-0 marks after six draws.

Sunday afternoon, Forrest used last rock in an extra end to defeat Brett Gallant of Prince Edward Island 8-7.

Down 6-2 after five ends Sunday night, skip Braeden Moskowy and his Saskatchewan team were at risk of falling back into the pack, but they rallied with six straight points — including a steal of three in the eighth — to beat Colin Miller from the Northwest Territories 8-6.

Alberta and New Brunswick each suffered their first losses of the bonspiel Sunday night and are the only one-loss teams.

The picture is a little more clear on the women’s side, with Ontario’s Rachel Homan the lone undefeated team. She won her third straight game to open the event, defeating Sarah Koltun of the Yukon 9-5.

Homan scored four in the sixth to take a 7-2 lead and never looked back.

There’s a log-jam behind her with seven one-loss teams. Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, New Brunswick and Saskatchewan are all 2-1, while B.C. and Alberta are 1-1.

Sarah Fullerton of P.E.I. handed Manitoba’s Breanne Meakin her first loss, with an 11-4 drubbing, while New Brunswick’s Jessica Daigle scored one with the hammer in the 10th to defeat Quebec’s Camille-Maire Lapierre 5-4.

Northern Ontario’s Kendra Lilly opened her game in the evening draw with a steal of three in the first end and ended it with another steal of three in the sixth, downing New Brunswick’s Daigle 9-2.

Saskatchewan’s Trish Paulsen improved to 3-1 with a 13-3 drubbing of Amanda Moizis from the Northwest Territories.

Alberta’s Nadine Chyz got her second win of the day, doubling up Nova Scotia’s Jane Snyder 6-3. B.C.’s Dailene Sivertson stole one in the ninth to tie Prince Edward Island’s Sarah Fullerton and then stole four in the 10th to win 9-5.
