ROUND-ROBIN action at the Brier wraps up today, so here’s a look at the contenders, their schedules and where we think they’ll finish up. The top four make it to the Page playoff beginning Friday night. In the case of ties for the top four spots, there could be tie-breakers earlier on Friday:

ONTARIO 9-0

Plays Yukon/Northwest Territories, Alberta today (Should finish 11-0; no one is going to stop Glenn Howard)

NEWFOUNDLAND 7-2

Plays Northern Ontario, Quebec today (Should finish 9-2; Brad Gushue and his team, including Winnipegger Ryan Fry, have gotten better each draw and they won’t drop another round-robin game)

ALBERTA 7-2

Plays Yukon/Northwest Territories, Ontario today (Should finish 8-3; Kevin Koe will drill the Polar Bears and should lose to Ontario on the last draw)

NORTHERN ONTARIO 7-2

Plays Newfoundland, Yukon/Northwest Territories (Should finish 8-3; Brad Jacobs has shot out of the pack and put himself in a position to make the playoffs, it would be a shock to see him fall apart now)

MANITOBA 5-4

Plays Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan (Should finish 7-4; it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Stoughton ran the table but it might be too little, too late)

QUEBEC 5-4

Plays Northern Ontario, Newfoundland (Should finish 5-6; Serge Reid had a nice run at his first Brier but it’s over)
