SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Manitoba’s Ron Westcott earned a silver medal after losing 5-4 to Ontario in the final of the 2010 Canadian Masters Championship Friday.

Manitoba had defeated Saskatchewan 6-2 in the 1 vs. 1 Page playoff game Thursday and finished the round-robin with a 6-0 record.

Wescott’s Fort Rouge squad also includes third Bob Jenion, seocond Bob Boughey and lead Gary Smith.

Manitoba’s women, skipped by Elaine Jones, lost to New Brunswick 10-4 in the 2 vs. 2 Page playoff Thursday. Manitoba then lost 9-3 to Quebec in the fourth-place game.

The Manitoba women’s team also includes third Anne Wright, second Pat Malanchuk, and lead Ruth Wiebe.
