The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have called a press conference for 1 p.m. today at which time it’s expected they will announce the firing of head coach Doug Berry.
Club management, as The Free Press reported today, has been mulling over the future of Berry since the East semifinal loss to the Edmonton Eskimos last Saturday. Berry just completed his third year as the Bomber head coach, having guided the team to the playoffs in each of those seasons.
But after advancing to the Grey Cup but losing to the Saskatchewan Roughriders last November, the Bombers stumbled to an 8-10 record in 2008.
