THE QB

No. 1 Henry Burris: Burris was 17 of 33 in a Week 1 loss to the Montreal Alouettes with one TD and one pick. On three different occasions in the fourth quarter, Burris pushed the Stamps to within Montreal’s 30 and came away with nothing. He’s an elite QB in this league and has a handful of weapons and will no doubt be looking to bounce back.

Quick take: Burris is second in Stamps history in all four major QB stats behind Hall of Famer Doug Flutie. Burris has thrown for 18,975 career passing yards on 2,138 attempts and 1,294 completions. Burris has thrown for 124 touchdowns. In 2008, Burris threw for a career year and was the West Division Most Outstanding Player as well as the Grey Cup MVP as he led the Stamps to the national title. Since joining the Stamps in 2005, Burris has thrown for 120 touchdowns, more than anyone else in the CFL.

OFFENSIVE WEAPONRY

No. 85 Ken-Yon Rambo, WR: Led the CFL with 1,473 receiving yards last season but did not play last week (hamstring). He’s expected to return and will be a major threat for the Stamps.

No. 21 Joffrey Reynolds, RB: Had just six carries for 19 yards last week but led the CFL last season with 1,310 rushing yards in 2008. Durable, strong between the tackles and the key to a consistent running attack.

DEFENSIVE STOPPERS

No. 27 Brandon Browner, DB: Considered the league’s No. 1 shutdown corner. Had eight takeaways last season including three interceptions. Can close down an entire side of the field.

No. 42 Mike Labingo, DT: Moved from the end to inside this week the 6-foot, 300-pounder from Toronto is among the league’s best. He’s a load on the line and has surprising speed.

THE SPECIALISTS

No. 12 Sandro DeAngelis, K: Among the league’s best last season with an 86.2 field goal percentage and CFL special teams player of the week twice. Went 5-for-5 in the Grey Cup and was solid in Week 1 going 3-for-3 with a long of 41 yards.

No. 83 Titus Ryan, returner: The rookie from Tuscaloosa took the league by storm last week as he returned a kick 104 yards for a touchdown and picked up 138 yards on three returns for an average of 46 per return.
