This year has been a year of ups and downs. The intensity of the season has increased exponentially from Day 1.

I still remember the anticipation I felt when Mike Kelly first walked on to the field to coach his first CFL game as the Head Coach of the Bombers.

It has been a bumpy, no tumultuous ride.

I am what you would call an optimistic fan. When Armstrong was released, I said it was for the best. When Bryant and Franklin were traded for Ryan and Arthur, I said it was for the best. When Mike Kelly talked back to fans, I said it was about time a coach defended himself.

But here we are, for better or worse. Seven wins and nine loses, coming off a tremendous win against the Goliaths of the league, the tiger-cats trying to claw their way above us and Edmonton trying to make the leap to the East.

As a fan, I can’t remember a more up and down year for the Bombers. We have been portrayed as the joke of the league, all the way to possible Grey Cup contenders.

Mike Kelly’s vision is finally starting to be seen by those who doubted him. Yes some may say that he was only successful when he gave up on his offensive schemes and when he gave more responsibility to the offensive line coach, but that is what a coach does. He finds the faults in a team and fixes it, even if those faults are his.

Mike Kelly is doing a fantastic job of fixing this team, getting rid of the bad influences and bringing in young and impressive talents. I believe that Mike Kelly is the coach that will bring us to the big game, and have us walk away with the most coveted award of the CFL.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers is a team to be proud of.

With players like Doug Brown, Ike Charleton, Michael Bishop, Alexis Serna, Troy Westwood, Obby Khan, Terrance Edwards and many more that have become role models for countless of fans.

We have a reason to go out there, buy your tickets and lose our voices for the men in Blue, we are the fourth aspect of the game, we can, a will make a difference in the game. We will be there when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on November 8th on the first of what I know will be a Head-to-head game.

We will beat them, and then we will send them packing when we overtake them in the Eastern Semi-Finals. I know I’ll be there, will you?

Sébastien “seebass” Ouellette
