Free Press football writer Ed Tait grades the Bombers:
QUARTERBACK

B-
Steven Jyles would like to have two throws back — both interceptions — but in 60 minutes of work breathed life into his career. Sure it’s just one game, but there are far fewer questions about his ability to be a starter this morning than yesterday.
RUNNING BACK
C+
Fred Reid ran for a score on the same drive he reeled off a 37-yarder. But his numbers were just so-so, with 69 yards on 16 carries. Still waiting for the bust-out game.
RECEIVERS
A-
No drops, although Adarius Bowman did fumble once. Terence Jeffers-Harris continued to establish himself as a rookie-of-the-year candidate with 97 yards and a spectacular 46-yard TD.
OFFENSIVE LINE
B
Edmonton had two sacks on the night, but Jyles had time to throw and the Bombers did rush for three TDs.
DEFENSIVE LINE
A
A TD from Moton Hopkins and huge pressure, particularly early as the Bombers racked up four sacks. Good work by ends Phillip Hunt and Odell Willis, too.
LINEBACKERS
B+
Steady work across the board from Marcellus Bowman, Joe Lobendahn and Ike Charlton, especially in helping set the tone early.
SECONDARY
A
The pressure up front helped and huge work from LaVar Glover, Jovon Johnson & Co. limited Fred Stamps and Kelly Campbell to just six catches total. Brandon Stewart also had a 112-yard interception return TD wiped out by penalty.
SPECIAL TEAMS
B+
A complete turnaround from early in the season — a punt-return TD from Jovon Johnson, but also had a field goal blocked and took too many penalties.
OVERALL
A-
A few blemishes, but contributions from all three phases in a solid home victory.
