Hey there, time traveller!

UH-OH: The vultures are circling in Edmonton where Saturday’s loss dropped the Esks to 0-4, their worst start since 1965.

"Out of the four games, this is the one we stunk up the most," said Eskimos head coach Richie Hall after the game. "I told them we didn’t get into this stink overnight and we’re not going to come out of it overnight."

HMMM...: Five different QBs have started games for the Bombers since 2008 with only one, Steven Jyles, sporting a winning record. Yes, Jyles is just 1-0, but Buck Pierce is 1-2 in his three starts while Kevin Glenn was 8-10 over that span, Michael Bishop was 6-8 and Stefan LeFors was 1-3.

NFL NETWORK DEBUT: Saturday’s win was the first time the Bombers had been featured on the NFL Network. The father of Bomber O-line coach Pat Delmonaco rented out a bar in Albany and had 55 fans taking in the game in the New York capital.

WELL DONE, MR. JYLES: Players, coaches and teammates have raved about Jyles’ professionalism in getting ready for his second career start but also being a good dude when the staff opted to go with Pierce as the starter after training camp.

"We wouldn’t have brought him here if we didn’t think he wasn’t (a professional)," said LaPolice. "One of his best things is his character. From Day 1 we never guaranteed him a starting job; we said he had to compete for it. He ended up just competing with a different guy than we thought of. For him to handle it like a pro which he did and he prepares every week like a starter and he also preps the starters, he helps the starters, he’s great on the sideline… he’s done a really good job. It’s good to see him have some success."

Y’all come back now

The Bombers have now won seven straight at home against the Eskimos and are 10-2 in their last 12 vs. Edmonton at Canad Inns Stadium.

Quotable

"You can lie to yourself all you want, but you are what your record is. We have to look deep down inside ourselves and see what we’re going to do to change it." — Eskimos linebacker Javy Glatt

New gig

Former Bombers OL/long-snapper Adam Bestard caddied for Matt Hill at the RBC Canadian Open this week. The two were high school teammates in Bright’s Grove, Ont.
