OFFENCE

Too iffy a day for everyone to get giddy handing out praise, but Terrence Edwards finished with six receptions for 113 yards, including a 72-yard TD.

DEFENCE

Clint Kent jumps out for us with four tackles, a sack and a forced fumble and recovery that put the Bombers in prime position to bury the Alouettes early, but…

SPECIAL TEAMS

They were burned by an Als’ fake punt that provided the home side a spark. So we’ll give the nod to Justin Palardy, who connected on his only field goal from 40 yards away in windy conditions and executed what could have been a perfect onside moon-shot kick late. Instead, the ball bounced out of bounds with two Bombers in the area.

CRITICAL NUMBERS:

Consecutive road losses for the Bombers; eight this season and one last year.

Consecutive wins by the Bombers in 2010. The last time the Bombers won two straight was a stretch of three victories last September-October.

Sacks by Phillip Hunt, giving the defensive end 13 on the season — good for first in the CFL and the most by a Bomber since Joe Fleming had 15 in 1998.

FYI:

Montreal receiver Ben Cahoon moved past Ray Elgaard to become the CFL’s all-time leader in receiving yards by a Canadian. Cahoon has 13,216 yards; Elgaard had 13,198.

QUOTABLE:

“It’s frustrating because we knew we could have beaten these guys. But when you don’t score points throughout the game it’s hard to beat Montreal. We were only down by one point at halftime and we had the ball first (to start the second half) and had a two-and-out while they went down and scored. You can’t allow that.
