DEFENSIVE linemen Brent Johnson of the B.C. Lions and Odell Willis of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers — who got caught up in a war of words earlier this week over the Bombers defence selling its own ‘Swaggerville’ T-shirts — have both softened their stances.

Johnson, who said Monday the Bombers defence should sell the T-shirts “while (they) can” had this to say on Wednesday when informed his comments had touched a nerve in Winnipeg: “I don’t know how to take that. I’m calling them out? We got to play them this week… I wouldn’t take it that serious,” he said.

Willis — who on Monday called Johnson a “hater” and suggested he didn’t know who Johnson is — told the Vancouver Sun Wednesday that he had done some research and gained new repect for the CFL’s sack leader (85) among active players.

“I didn’t know what a great track record he has, until I looked into it,” Willis said.
