GAME BALLS

Offence Pass catchers on both sides will have to split it. Hamilton receiver Chris Williams pulled down seven balls for an impressive 162 yards and one touchdown. Bombers SB Terrence Edwards had six catches for 120 yards and a major.

Defence Linebacker Joe Lobendahn gets the ball here for his hustle play early in the third quarter when he chased down Williams and forced the Hamilton receiver to fumble at the Bombers one-yard line. A heady play by the veteran leader.

Special Teams After hearing some boo-birds his last time at home, Bombers kicker Justin Palardy gets the ball here for going 3-of-3 in the field goal department. The winning points came on a 21-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

FAN-O-METER The 30,338 in Canad Inns Stadium Friday exploded at various points of Bombers success, but the loudest cheers came in the fourth quarter, when the defence needed a charge. Even those occupied at the ‘Rum Hut’ had to notice the deafening sound from the stands.

BY THE NUMBERS

17 The rushing yards put forth by Bombers RB Fred Reid in the first half. Reid only had four carries in the opening 30 minutes. He finished the game with 12 carries for 54 yards.

12 The interception total by the Bombers after this game — good for the league lead. The Bombers added to the number with DB Jovon Johnson’s TD score in the first quarter, but Winnipeg could have had a number of picks in the opening 15 minutes.

6, roughly The number of times Hamilton DE Stevie Baggs danced around or motioned to the Winnipeg bench — specifically fellow sack-master Odell Willis — after making a play in the Bombers backfield. Willis gave some back, naturally.
