WINNIPEG won the last time the clubs met, a 24-16 victory in Steeltown, but there was a concern over how many times Bombers QB Buck Pierce got hit. He was sacked five times that game, the highest number allowed by the Bombers offensive line to date.

Hamilton has one of the more active linebacking groups (Jamall Johnson, Rey Williams, Markeith Knowlton) in the league, so the Blue and Gold goal this week is to make the Ticats rethink their pressure-the-pocket plan. “With Buck back there, they want to overload that box,” centre Obby Khan said Thursday.

Extra heat up front has been the norm this season, Khan said, adding he’s found himself a little more active in the pass protection, having to make quicker reads due to the increase in pressure.
