WINNIPEG is a “front-runner” to host the 2014 Grey Cup, CFL commissioner Mark Cohon said during a visit to Winnipeg Monday.
“We made a commitment to the team and the province that it would be soon after the (new stadium) opening,” Cohon told reporters during a tour of the new stadium still under construction at the University of Manitoba.
“There’s a natural rotation and there’s been some negotiating between the teams in terms of where it happens. So I don’t want to speculate on it, but the fact of the matter is I think Winnipeg is a front-runner for it.”
