Bombers defensive co-ordinator Casey Creehan on the 7 sacks his team registered on Als QB Anthony Calvillo

‘The majority of our pressure was on a four-man rush, which is a credit to our disguises in the back end and it’s a credit to our front four in getting after it.’

Bombers head coach Tim Burke sounding after the game like he was still having a hard time believing his team had won despite turning the ball over five times

‘We can’t turn the ball over like that and win.’

Burke, who used to be Montreal’s defensive co-ordinator, denying he has anything to do with the fact Winnipeg has now won in three of their last four appearances in Montreal

‘No, I don’t think I have any special formula for that.’

Burke when asked whether Jovon Johnson’s fumble on Montreal’s kickoff late in the fourth quarter had his attention. The Bombers recovered the fumble.

‘Extremely nerve-wracking, yes.’

Jovon Johnson, on his case of the dropsies

‘I’m harder on myself than anybody. There’s no excuses for that. The ball’s slippery, it’s humid out there. But at the end of the day, I’ve got to get on the ground.’

Bombers QB Buck Pierce vastly understating the abuse he took from the Montreal defence last night

‘I got hit a few times, but I’m OK. I’m good.’

Pierce on his plans for a Bombers defence which kept his team in the game despite 5 turnovers

‘I’m going to buy them all dinner. I’m going to buy them whatever they want tonight.’

Pierce on how these football scripts usually play out

‘Turnovers are going to kill you. The team that turns the ball over usually loses.’

Pierce on what the win means

‘This is a character win. I always say it’s important to win on the road early, it’s important to come from behind and battle in a tough game and finish. I think we finished, we showed some character, we showed some toughness with our backs against the wall. And we showed some fight. That’s what you ask for and I think our fans should be proud of us for that.’

Bombers slotback Cory Watson on a first-quarter fumble that preceded what proved to be a huge game for the non-import, who recorded 6 catches for 114 yards

‘Starting off and putting the team in a hole was bad. But I was happy I was able to stay focused and produce the game I did…It lit a fire. After that, my mind was absolutely focused on what I had to do and make sure the ball was tucked in.’
