BOMBERS HEAD COACH TIM BURKE SUMS UP A TOUGH NIGHT:

“I thought our offence did a pretty good job tonight. They moved the ball well. We lost a receiver early (Wallace Miles, who was hurt on a horse collar tackle), but we were able to carry on. But defensively, we didn’t play very well obviously. We didn’t rush the passer very well and we didn’t cover very well, which is why (Argos QB Ricky Ray) had 505 yards (passing).”

BURKE ON WHAT WENT WRONG ON A 69-YARD TD RECEPTION BY ARGOS RECEIVER DONTRELLE INMAN LATE IN THE 4TH QUARTER THAT ICED THE WIN FOR TORONTO:

“That last TD pass, I told (Argos head coach) Scott Milanovich: ‘We practiced that all week long because I knew you were going to go to it after watching last week’s film.’ But (Bombers nickelback) Desia (Dunn) was supposed to take it away and he was hurt. And the guy who replaced him didn’t know that position. And in a short week, you don’t get to practice everybody. It was just one of those things.”

BURKE, UPON HEARING THAT THE 12 PENALTIES FOR 95 YARDS HIS TEAM TOOK WERE ACTUALLY LESS THAN THE 14 FOR 139 THAT THE ARGOS TOOK:

“That’s hard to believe.”

BURKE ON WHAT HE INTENDS TO DO ABOUT THE PLAYERS WHO TOOKW ALL THOSE WINNIPEG PENALTIES:

“It will definitely be addressed, extremely heavily. There’s going to be some light pocketbooks this week… I chalk it up to not being able to control your emotions and that’s something you have to do. Football is an emotional game, but you have to be able to control your emotions.”

BOMBERS TAILBACK WILL FORD ON THE GOAL-LINE COLLISION WITH ARGOS DEFENSIVE BACK NEIKO THORPE THAT LED TO THORPE BEING CARTED OFF ON A STRETCHER AND TAKEN TO HOSPITAL (THORPE LATER CHECKED OUT ALL-CLEAR AND WAS RELEASED):

“It just stunned me. He was a friend of a couple of players on the team and I met him (Wednesday) night. I knew the way he hit… I could see him wobbling, so I knew something wasn’t right. And when I turned around and seen him on the ground, it was rough. And he wasn’t moving. That’s why I was just really concerned.”

BOMBERS RECEIVER WALLACE MILES ON HIS FIRST CAREER TD RECEPTION IN THE CFL, A FIVE-YARDER FROM MAX HALL IN THE FIRST QUARTER:

“That’s what makes it bittersweet. It’s a milestone in my life — my first professional touchdown. But it came in a loss, so I’m not as happy as I should be.”

BOMBERS DEFENSIVE BACK JOHNNIE SEARS ON WHAT WENT SO TERRIBLY WRONG ON A NIGHT ARGOS QB RICKY RAY THREW FOR A PERSONAL RECORD 505 YARDS:

“It was their game plan and it was our miscues. They had a game plan, they gave us the same looks (as last week at Investors Group Field) and then did little wrinkles off of it. At the same time, it was the secondary that didn’t play to the level we did last week.”
