TORONTO – The CFL appointed Greg Dick as its deputy commissioner Wednesday.

The move is effective immediately.

Dick had been the CFL’s chief football operations officer and head of Grey Cup and events since 2023.

Dick joined the CFL in 2016 as senior vice-president of operations and finance. He also served as chief operating officer, chief financial officer, treasurer, secretary and head of football operations.

Dick is also chair on both the Canadian Football Hall of Fame’s board and its selection committee.

The CFL says Dick will work in areas including football operations, officiating and major events in his new role.

He will also serve as a principal adviser to the commissioner and represent the league with clubs, partners, government stakeholders, media and fans.

“Greg has earned the trust and respect of everyone across our league through his integrity, sound judgment and unwavering commitment to excellence,” CFL commissioner Stewart Johnston said in a statement. “He has played a central role in delivering world-class football operations, strengthening relationships with our clubs and stakeholders, and ensuring the highest standards of competition and governance.

“In this new role, Greg will be an even more important partner in shaping the future of the CFL and driving our continued growth.”
