The rookies will gather in Penticton, B.C., on Sept. 11 and the main camp opens Sept. 17.

The Winnipeg Jets are gearing up for their return to the NHL and opening night vs. the Montreal Canadiens Oct. 9 at the MTS Centre. During the next few weeks, we will provide you with an up-close look at some of the players who are expected to be in the team’s lineup when it hits the ice against the legendary Habs.

ACQUIRED: Signed by the Thrashers as a free agent on Nov. 30, 2010

  • Played four years at University of Minnesota-Duluth and made his pro debut with the Portland Pirates of the AHL
  • Lists Steve Yzerman as his favourite player growing up and his favourite hockey moment as his first NHL game for the Maple Leafs on Feb. 26, 2009 vs. the Islanders
  • Played two seasons with Jokerit Helsinki, leading the team in goals in year two
  • Suited up for Team USA at the 2011 IIHF World Championships, picking up one assist in seven games
  • Born and raised in the Chicago area, but is not related to former Blackhawks star Pat Stapleton

TRANSACTIONS: Signed by Toronto as a free agent on June 6, 2008. Acquired by the Thrashers from Toronto with Pavel Kubina for Garnet Exelby and Colin Stuart on July 1, 2009.
