About the Jets: Coming off a 4-3 shootout loss against the Maple Leafs Wednesday as part of their first foray into Canadian markets in their rebirth… After this jaunt through Ontario the team returns home for games against Carolina (Saturday) and the Rangers (Monday)… Tobias Enstrom’s first-period goal ended an 0-for-17 power-play streak to start the season for the Jets. It also marked the first goal by a Winnipeg D-man this year… The Jets (nee: Thrashers) are just 12-24-2-6 all-time against the Sens.
About the Senators: Have struggled in their rebuild to start 2011-12 with just one win and five losses in six games… Ottawa is led by former Jet Paul MacLean, now in his first year as the Sens’ head coach…. Ottawa last played the former Jets on Feb. 8, 1996 when they dropped a 6-2 decision at the Winnipeg Arena. Winnipeg’s last visit to the nation’s capital came on Nov. 22, 1995, a 3-1 Jets victory… The game against the Jets is the second of a three-game homestand for the Sens, who are back on the ice Saturday night against Columbus.
