About the Jets
The Jets will again be without three key players in defencemen Dustin Byfuglien and Zach Bogosian and winger Blake Wheeler. Wheeler could return by Thursday’s home game against Buffalo… Ondrej Pavelec is expected to start in goal after Chris Mason was between the pipes against Ottawa on Monday. Pavelec is 4-2-1 in games after he gets the night off… Winnipeg is 0-6 in the second of back-to-back games this season.
About the Devils
Have not played since Saturday’s 2-1 victory over the Jets in Winnipeg… The Devils have won four of their last five to improve to 25-17-2… Rookie Adam Henrique is expected back in the Devils’ lineup after missing Saturday’s win — he and Patrik Elias have been killers against the Jets, each potting three goals… Entering action Monday, the Devils held top spot in the penalty-kill rankings with a 90.6 percentage… The Devils have been especially effective on the shootout, with an impressive 8-1 record, best among NHL teams. By comparison, Winnipeg ranks near the bottom with a 1-2 mark.
