Big picture

Yes, the overtime loss stings. But that single point earned puts the Jets at 65 points and right in the middle of the playoff hunt. Literally, right in the middle. Winnipeg’s 65 points move them into tie with the Florida Panthers (who lead the Southeast Division) and into a tie with the Toronto Maple Leafs for eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. Teams all around Winnipeg have games in hand, but the Jets have to be pleased where they stand this morning.

Little picture

The Jets have picked up at least a point in four straight games now (3-0-1). Lesson to take away from Tuesday: Winnipeg can’t afford to sit back and let a team like the Flyers keep coming at them. Not a good plan.

Game-breaker

What do you say about Jaromir Jagr? The guy was a threat to score all night and when the Jets gave him a little space in front of the net he made them pay. Hall of Fame talent, right there. The OT winner was his 16th goal of the season.
