Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 26/03/2012 (5004 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
When: tonight, 7:30 p.m at MTS Centre
On the air: TSN Jets, TSN 1290.
About the Jets
Have reached the 75-game mark in an uncomfortable spot, now six points away from the eighth-place line in the Eastern Conference standings and only seven games to play… The Jets have lost three of their last four and LW Evander Kane, the team’s leading goal-scorer, has not scored in five games… St. John’s call-ups RW Spencer Machacek and C Ben Maxwell have made an impact in the last week. Machacek has a goal and four assists in three games; Maxwell has a goal and three assists in that time… Their linemate, Tim Stapleton, has scored in three straight games, including last Friday’s OT winner in Washington… If he gets the call tonight, G Ondrej Pavelec (28-26-7) will make his 12th straight start.
About the Senators
Sens bring an enviable (to Jets’ fans) 18-13-6 road record to the MTS Centre… Ottawa won the only game here between the teams so far, 6-4 at the end of November… Sens coming off an eye-catching 8-4 trouncing of Pittsburgh at home Saturday, helping to solidify their position in seventh spot in the Eastern Conference… The offensive outburst helped Ottawa stop a three-game losing streak and they had more goals than in all of their five previous games… Ottawa has been one of the NHL’s streakiest teams this season, with highs of six wins and seven losses… With 78 points in 75 games, C Jason Spezza leads his team in scoring. This is his most productive season since 2007-08.
