About the Rangers

At 14-13-0, the Rangers, under former Manitoba Moose coach Alain Vigneault, have been on a win-one/lose-one rotation for the past five games. Their latest outing was Saturday afternoon’s 5-2 beatdown of the Vancouver Canucks at the Garden.

After tonight, the Rangers play in Buffalo on Thursday, then have nine home games in a row through Christmas. They’re in a stretch of 11 out of 12 at home.

Here’s some bad news for the anemic Jets’ power play — the Rangers have killed off 24 of the last 26 short-handed situations in their last 10 games, a rate of 92.3 per cent.

LW Chris Kreider had three goals against Vancouver on Saturday, doubling his season’s production to six.

In his 10 games so far this season, forward Rick Nash has four goals, five assists and nine points. He had a three-point day against the Canucks.
