ABOUT THE COYOTES
- Newly rebranded as the Arizona, not Phoenix, Coyotes, another season in the desert starts coming off two years of missing the playoffs. Last season’s shortcoming was just two points, largely a product of late-season struggles that saw the team win just three of the last 10.
- Arizona starts off its season with the first four at home, L.A., Edmonton and St. Louis are the teams following the Jets here.
- The Coyotes went 4-2-2 in the pre-season and were led in points by 26-year-old “rookie” Justin Hodgman, who was 4-1-5 in five games. Hodgman has been in Europe for the past three seasons.
- All three games between the teams last season went to the Jets, two by shootouts.
