ABOUT THE KINGS
Los Angeles (34-31-7) hasn’t played since Monday in Edmonton where goalie Cam Talbot threw up a 35-save shutout and the Oilers prevailed 2-0. The Kings, on a two-game losing skid, are just 14-18-5 on the road.
C Jeff Carter leads the club with 31 goals and 60 points, reaching the 30-goal mark for the first time since the 2010-11 season when he skated with the Philadelphia Flyers. He’s also among the league leaders with 10 power-play goals. LW Tanner Pearson has a career-high 22 goals.
The production of team captain C Anze Kopitar (10G, 34A) is down this season, but he’s scored once and added three assists in his last five games. He endured a goal-scoring drought from Jan. 31 to March 3. RW Jarome Iginla has potted three goals and chipped in an assist in nine games since being acquired from the Colorado Avalanche at the NHL trade deadline.
G Jonathan Quick, a two-time Stanley Cup winner, returned to the Kings Feb. 25 after missing 59 games with a groin injury and has posted a 5-2-1 record in 10 starts. The day after his return, L.A. acquired pending unrestricted free agent G Ben Bishop in a trade with Tampa Bay that sent G Peter Budaj the other way. In four starts with the Kings, Bishop (0-2-2) has yet to win.
